My Sweet Mother's Eyes

My Sweet Mother's Eyes
[ Randy Wills ]

From the first breath of life she was there by my side…
From a babe, to a child, to a man
Like the call of the sea and the wind on my face…
I surely know who I am

On my heart she inscribed what truly is right…
And how a man’s meant to be
As I go forth in light, through the darkness of night,
wherever I go I still see

I can still see the green hills of Ireland..
and the blue to the gray Irish skies
And I see how to live every day dear…
When I look in my sweet Mother’s eyes

I remember that friends are my blessing…
And I’ve learned to be graceful and wise
And there’s nowhere God speaks to me clearer…
Than when I look in my sweet Mother’s eyes

Some day she’ll be gone but I’ll ne’er be alone…
For I know that her love never dies
Though a part will move on, much more will remain,
I will see through my sweet Mother’s eyes

From my last living breath, to the end of all time…
There’ll be no need for mournful goodbyes
For in Heaven I’ve lived and in heaven I’ll be
And again see my sweet mother’s eyes

I will still see the green hills of Ireland..
And the blue to the gray Irish skies
For I saw how to live every day dear…
When I looked in my sweet Mother’s eyes

I remember that friends are my blessing…
And I’ve learned to be grateful and wise
And there’s nowhere God speaks to me clearer…
Than when I look in my sweet Mother’s eyes

REPEAT CHORUS!!!!!

Soon I’ll see our God now before me…
As I have in my sweet Mother’s eyes
Always there, in  my sweet Mother’s eyes.
